Your Cheap Booze– Older!
May 1, 2008
Hate the taste of Busch and Natty Lite? Want to do something about it? Now you can!

Using a luminous transformer that he found in his basement, VOLT/AGED’s Jon Sarriugarte decided to test what would happen if he pumped 15,000 volts into a bitter brandy. What he found was that, after the treatment, the brandy was considerably smoother and seemed to have aged a great deal.
Expanding on this idea, Jon and friends threw on some copper pipes, a safety cage, a timer (so you can see how many years you have aged your alcohol), and gave it the name VOLT/AGED, essentially creating their own “boiler bar.â€
A machine that can age brandy, whiskey, beer and maybe even wine? Now that, my friends, is something every College Drinker needs.
See how it’s done here.
Nice Rack, Cold Beer
January 4, 2008

We do our best to appreciate a nice rack. We also like cold beer. N-ice Rack does a good job of combining the two into one compact freezable beer pong cup rack. Simply fill them up with water, pop them in the freezer, and you’ll have a have a perfect rack while keeping your cups cold.
The N-ice Rack fits standard Dixie and Solo cups and also comes with three ping pong balls. You can pick them up for $20 for a 2-pack at N-ice Rack. Cheers.

Shot Glasses Made for Jello Shots
November 8, 2007

Twist N’ Shot has a solution to the problem of Jello shots sticking to the glasses. What they’ve made is a shot glass with a rim you can twist to unstick the Jello. Pretty brilliant…
Jello Shots are a great addition to any party. And the ladies love them. But after taking all that time to make them, it sucks to have to stick your pinkie in there and twist to get it out. You ruin the shot and get your fingers all sticky (and that’s supposed to happen later in the night…).
These Twist N’ Shot glasses seem like a really great idea. And at $13.99 for a pack of 20 shot glasses, it seems like it could be very worth it, even just as a novelty. For a bigger party you can order a pack of 60 for $36.99.

Ultimate Cocktail: Jungle Juice Dispenser
November 3, 2007
The Ultimate Cocktail is a cocktail holder that you can tap with an ordinary keg tap. Just pour in your liquor and your soda or juice and screw on the top. This allows you to make big cocktails and easily dispense them to your whole party. The design of the heavy duty plastic bottle allows you to pressurize and dispense any beverage with any pressurizing tap, like the Ubertap. You can dispense soda, juice, punch… anything. It’s basically a heavy duty plastic refillable keg, so it could be useful for all sorts of things.
This might be a little nicer than the gross 5 gallon Gatorade coolers that you currently use. But it’s not cheap. The cooler runs $30.00 for a 15L bottl, and $70.00 for a 30L bottle.

Kidsbeer! New Beverage From Japan
November 2, 2007
This is no joke. Kidsbeer is a new brew being manufactured in Japan which boasts the slogan, “Even kids cannot stand life unless they have a drink!” The manufacturer has been moving over 75,000 bottles every month recently.
The beverage is non-alcoholic, of course, and actually is a lot more like a frothy soda than a beer. But its brown color is specifically meant to resemble the more adult counterpart. The drink has been wildly successful in Japan, where apparently, all the little tykes want to pretend to be big boozers (…like daddy!).
According to Satoshi Tomoda, president of the beverage maker, “Children copy and mimic adults.” I just wonder how many of these a little guy can have before he wakes up in a smoky apartment next to some chick he just met in daycare the night before with a huge headache… That is just like adults!
