WSOBP Update

There’s still time to sign up for the World Series of Beer Pong III.

Over 600 players are expected to sign up to compete for the grand prize of $50,000.

That’s a pretty huge prize for just playing beer pong. Over 250 people signed up in the first two weeks and satellite tournaments have been scheduled all over the country.

Registration for the WSOBP is open to all over the age of 21. You can register online at www.bpong.com before the December 3 deadline. Packages start at $500 and include hotel fees and entry fees, among other costs.

So, it’s the weekend right now, so you should be out partying. But here’s a second to remember what we covered this week:

Good at Pong? Prove It: World Series of Beer Pong Sign-Ups Open

Sign ups for the third annual World Series of Beer Pong started last week! This little event is certainly gaining traction. Last year’s WSOBP attracted over 500 players, and this year’s event is expected to yield even more. Especially with the $50,000 Grand Prize they are offering!

The Series has an interesting structure: each team plays 10-12 games over two days, win or lose. A limited number of teams will reach a final tournament on the third day based on their first two days’ performance. So you’re at least guaranteed not to get knocked out in the first round like you did in your last tournament!

At the WSOBP no team is required to consume their beer and can substitute water in its cups at any point in the tournament. The event is structured so that no player will consume more than one beer per hour as a direct result of the competition. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be chugging them on the side!
