WunderBar Mini Kegerator Makes Mini-Kegs Wunderful!
October 18, 2007
Those Europeans are real serious beer drinkers. How else do you explain a battery powered mini kegerator? WunderBar Coolers are a line of Mini-keg kegerators. They can hold 4-liter pressure kegs, 5-liter tap or pressure kegs, 6-liter pressure kegs, and even a special uni-keg that they make, which is designed to hold wine or soda. And the smallest one, the Party, does indeed run off of 4 AA batteries. Never have to suffer a beer that isn’t ice cold again!
Finally, a kegerator that breaks free of outlets! Remember the times when it was impossible to get cold beer outside before this came along? I mean, it’s not like you could just throw a few cans or bottles into a cooler, or something…
WunderBar has three different models at three different price levels. The Party is battery powered so you could take it on a picnic or something (but it looks like it drains batteries quickly). The Thermo is a basic plug-in home unit. And the Professional is the top of the line unit. All units can be attached to the universal 500-gram CO2 bottle (taps about 40 kegs) so you don’t have to pump anything.
This is not a bad product line, but it doesn’t really matter… It’s only available overseas. Guess we’ll have to make do with our own units, like the Mini Pub, while the Europeans tote their battery kegerators all over.

Beer Checkers Review- Drunkest Checkers Around
October 17, 2007
A College Drinker Special Review:
This was by far the funnest night I’ve had in a long time. I thought that Beer Checkers would be innocent enough. I mean, it’s checkers, how drunk could this possibly get me. I sat down with my friend James to play a match, I figured we’d play a best of 3 as a pre-game for the pre-game. Wow, was I wrong.
The Set-up:
This Beer Checkers set is a big checkers mat, with little cups for the pieces. You fill them half way, and when you get jumped you drink it. Kings = full cup. And the loser has to drink everything left on the board. Easy enough. I feel like I’m pretty good at checkers. I mean, everyone’s good at checkers, it’s probably the simplest game out there. So James and I filled up our cups and started to play.

GetBombed Beer Pong Set: Nice Rack
October 15, 2007

Beer Pong is iconic of college drinking. We love to argue over everything from how many re-racks you get, to where you place your elbow, to even the name of the game. But one thing we don’t argue about is that it is awesome.
Now it’s a little more awesome because GetBombed makes a plastic rack for beer pong that gives you the perfect rack every time! They sell these things in Spencer’s, Urban Outfitters, and Musicland retailers across the nation. $14.99 gets you 2 Cup racks, 3 seemless BP Pro Balls, 20 Cups w/ fill lines, 2 wash cups, and rules. Throw away the rules because if you don’t know how to play already, you shouldn’t be in college…
Not only do you get a perfect rack every time, but according to their site, having this rack also means “you’ll never have to worry about spilling or knocking over cups making clean-up a snap.” That’s definitely a good thing when you’re playing in, say… a dorm room?
The rack fits most standard size cups (think: SOLO), so you can substitute those in the rack when the initial cups they send you inevitably get too dirty to be used. And you’ll still have a perfect rack every time with nobody ever saying “can you just touch those up a little bit?” Ahhh… that’s worth it right there!

Chuggler: Sip it or Bong it!
October 14, 2007
The Chuggler is a mug, and a beer bong put together. It looks like any other ordinary mug, but it’s got a hose attached to it, making it one of the most useful mugs for the college drinker.
Cause, you know… sometimes it just seems like regular mug just aren’t fast enough…
Next time all your friends are hurrying you because they want to go (”hurry up and finish that damn beer!“), don’t just set it down and follow them… If you’re slacking on your intake, you can catch up by just bonging the rest!
Definitely a novelty. I mean, can you imagine anyone who’s not in college actually using this thing?

Quaffer Shot Glass Has Automatic Chaser
October 10, 2007
The Quaffer is a shot glass with two chambers so you can pour in your liquor and a chaser while still keeping them separate. This makes it the perfect shot glass for doing bombs of all types (just check out that beautiful Jagerbomb in the picture). The bottom part is 1.25 oz and the top part is 2.25 oz for a good liquor to chaser ratio.
These glasses are pretty cool. But how hard are they to actually pour? The layering looks really badass, but a purple-ish jager/redbull mix would probably not be as good. A video on the site makes it look easy, but you never can tell.
Also, the website claims that this is “guaranteed to be the best shot you’ve ever had!”

SoftFlask: Good For Booze!
October 7, 2007
Nothing is better than when people take a perfectly normal product, and start using it as a flask for booze. Now, the SoftFlask from Venture Design Works may have already been designed to hold liquid, but I bet that the creators didn’t see it being used to carry around our type of liquid…
Actually designed for “the performance-minded athlete” as a gel flask, the SoftFlask is a soft and flexible plastic pouch. Because of this, it is perfect to sneak past a security pat-down at, say… a concert or a game! Although it is a gel flask — and therefore, not very big — you can still probably fit a few shots into this little thing.
And at a price of only $11, this refillable SoftFlask seems like a much more economical solution that those Pocket Shots in the long run.
And as a bonus, if you ever wanna run or something crazy like that for some reason… you’ll have a gel flask!
the “performance-minded” drinker can get it here: [Venture Design Works]
