Beer Pong Game Coming to Nintendo Wii
The Wii Game We’ve Been Waiting For
A new Beer Pong video game will be released in mid-June on Nintendo’s WiiWare platform. The game - in development by JV Games Inc. - will offer players the chance to play tournament-style in three classic beerpong venues (the garage, the basement, and the bar), as well as have a Speed Pong mode where players compete against each other to eliminate their cups first.
The game will allow 1-4 players to compete against each other in the same way that they would in real life. “We created a very accurate and realistic throw system. No buttons to time your throw with; just hold the Wii Remote⢠like you would a normal ball and throw.” says JV Games VP Jag Jaeger.
The game is expected to be a huge hit with college students. Jaeger reports that the staff is already having a hard time keeping up with e-mail inquiries about the game. “People are anxious to get their hands on the game,” he says.
We’re one of the anxious ones. From the pictures, this looks like it is going to be a pretty legit game, but the degree to which the controls feel as natural as they claim will be the determinant.

[...] Wii beer pong probably won’t illicit the frenzied response that the scarcity of the Wii Fit has caused lately but I definitely will be one of those looking to buy the first edition expected out in June. Big thanks to the guys over at CollegeDrinker.com for this one. For more screenshots of the Wii Beer Pong video game check out this post. [...]
Too bad that this is not ‘Beer Pong’…this version is actually called “beirut”. The ‘real’ version of beer pong is played with padles and one cup per player…. I guess it would make sense that to name a game with “pong” in the title, it would probably need to be played at least somewhat similar to ping-pong…hehehe.
For those that know….”Beer Pong” is far superior to “Beirut”….but they’ll both provide some good drinking…
peace
“Beruit” is a type of Beer Pong, and still falls under the “Beer Pong” name. Now I wonder if the Wii Game will be banned in Belmar, NJ? (The first town in the U.S. to ban Beer Pong)
That game looks like it’ll be fun… for about 1 round. >>
I recently saw a petition to Nintendo to make a beer pong game. I thought it was a horrible idea then, I still think it is now. Sounds like a game for posers who don’t get invited to parties.
If you want to play beer pong, play some f-ing beer pong. Isn’t the point of beer pong to drink the beer in the cups you’re playing with? You can’t drink your tv screen, people.
I play a lot of video games but just don’t get this — if you want to play beer pong, set up some cups and get ripped; what is the point of this if your not getting drunk??
i’m a huge nerd and out of college… and i still play beer pong prolly once a month. fuck, we just had our 2nd annual beer-lympics on the 4th. if you lame bitches can’t accept this, go fuck yourselves. **newsflash** playing beerpong in one’s house on the wii is a hell of a lot safer for you stay at home bitches than drunk assholes driving home at the local bar. if you really car about this, write you local congressman and start another prohibition.
where can i buy this game????
Hello,
