Fresh from the Garden: BEER!
May 29, 2007

Summer is here! Time to crawl out of the basements and the hole-in-the-wall bars we’ve been drinking in all winter and start enjoying the warm weather. And by far the best thing about warm weather is that now you can waste your night away at a beer garden! There is nothing better than kicking back on a summer night with some friends and getting some beer outside. Somehow that just seems to make it taste better.
Next time you’re thinking about what to do tonight, skip the karaoke and the techno DJ and try to find a bar with a good beer garden. Summer is only around for a while so enjoy not remembering it while it lasts!
Dealing With Your Hangover
May 20, 2007
Dealing with a hangover is nobody’s favorite thing to do. But we know how it really is, and every so often a good party makes the average college student literally forced into boozing before they have to wake up early. So how do you get over your hangover so you can deal with all those annoying things you have to do during the day? Drinkaware.co.uk, a british drinking awareness site has made a list of some tips for the morning after that we like. Turns out that it really comes down to time and re-hydrating yourself. They mention at the end that the best way to cure a hangover is to avoid getting one. But as we know sometimes these things just kinda happen…

Beer Pong Rubbers
May 18, 2007
Tired of cups always floating about when you’re playing Beer Pong on your makeshift table? Well somebody finally did something about it. Check out www.beerpongrubbers.com. These little rubber triangles will keep your cups in line. Except, now there’s no excuse for why you can’t make that shot.
Remember what you learned in health class. Use protection.
We haven’t actually gotten to try these things out, so if you do, leave a comment.
Chicago 12 Year Olds Drink Harder than You
May 17, 2007
Chicago students, rejoice! You’ve received top honors. A Red Eye/Chicago Tribune article published in February reported that Chicago is the top bing-drinking city in America (it’s also the home of College Drinker — go figure).
The federal government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which released its ranking of the 15 largest metropolitan areas last month, found that 25.7 percent of people over age 12 in the Chicago area were considered binge drinkers, more than any other metro area surveyed and well over the national average of 22.7 percent.
Age 12? Are you kidding? I know some people get started early, but damn, that’s plain ridiculous. I don’t suppose those same 12 year olds are shot-gunning cans of Natty Ice and beer bonging malt liquor down a staircase. If they are, I want to meet them, they’re America’s future.
And don’t be fooled by the picture — it’s straight vodka.
Money Clip Bottle Opener Saves Molars
May 17, 2007
We’ve all been there. You ask the misses (or the rando down the way) for a new brew, it arrives, and lo and behold it’s not a twist-off. You shrug but aren’t worried, after all you know that your friend Josh has some wicked molars capable of opening any bottle, oh and there’s always that table nearby that you can do the old slam-the-top trick with, or you could always revert to using another bottle — a skill that takes time and practice to perfect.
That’s all fine and well, but why not class it up with your Beer Clip. Make sure you’re rocking at least a few $1 bills. Hell, if that doesn’t work for you there is always the Bottle Opener Sandal. Happy bottle opening.

We’re trying to add many more bars in the chicagoland area. If you know a bar that you would like to be listed, leave us a comment.
